From Paris: approximately 6h30 via the A6 and A40 motorways.
From Lyon: approximately 2h30 via the A42 and A40 motorways.
From Marseille: approximately 5h30 via the A7 and A40 motorways.
From Geneva: approximately 1h15, making it a convenient option for arrivals from French-speaking Switzerland (A40).
From Italy: access via the Mont Blanc Tunnel, particularly from Courmayeur, Aosta, or Turin.

The main route into the valley is via the RN205, from Le Fayet to Chamonix, using exit no. 21 “Chamonix-Mont-Blanc”. The RD1506 then provides access to Argentière, Vallorcine, and Switzerland via the Col des Montets pass.

Before travelling, we recommend checking road conditions and Mont Blanc Tunnel updates, especially in winter or during major sporting events.

On-site, numerous car parks are available, but they can fill up quickly during peak periods. Atypiic’s tip: plan group arrivals in advance, reserve parking where possible, and consider a dedicated shuttle service when several participants arrive at the same time.

From Paris, allow approximately 5h30 to 6h30 to reach Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

From Lyon, the journey is generally shorter, depending on available connections. Routes typically pass through Bellegarde-sur-Valserine or Geneva to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains Le Fayet, followed by a final regional TER connection to Chamonix.

From Switzerland, the Léman Express makes arrivals from Geneva and the Lake Geneva region easier, with connections to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains Le Fayet and a TER link onwards to Chamonix.

For groups, the most convenient option is to coordinate arrivals at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains Le Fayet or Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. From there, participants can often reach their seminar hotel on foot, especially when travelling with light luggage.

The valley benefits from an efficient bus network connecting the main areas of Chamonix, Les Houches, Argentière, and Vallorcine. Local services provide easy access to ski lifts, train stations, and many of the region’s leading attractions. Once in the valley, getting around is often possible without a car. For group events, private coaches can complement the existing transport network, simplifying logistics while reducing parking constraints.
