A few words about the hotel

Set in a natural landscape exuding resort charm, the Mercure Omaha Beach is a seminar hotel overlooking Port-en-Bessin and the D-Day beaches. What used to be the Saint-Sauveur dairy farm was transformed into a golf course in the early 1980s. The hotel opened in 1989 in the heart of the 100-hectare site, which is bathed in light and caressed by sea breezes. Renovated in 2024, the Mercure Omaha Beach can accommodate weddings, seminars and events for up to 100 people in this internationally renowned place of remembrance, nature and contemplation.

Getting to the hotel

By car

Your Mercure Omaha Beach venue hire is approximately 3 hours’ drive from Paris, 45 minutes from Caen and 10 minutes from Bayeux. Located to the west of Paris, the hotel can be reached via the A13 towards Le Havre / Caen, then the A14 from La Défense / Orgeval. Take the ring road north of Caen, exit Cherbourg, then the D100 to Port-en-Bessin-Huppain.

Alternatively: A13 then N13, exit 38, then D613 and D100, same route from Caen or Bayeux.
After passing through the countryside and along the Normandy coast, take advantage of the free car park (65 spaces for cars, bikes and buses) with electric hook-ups.

By train

Around thirty TER trains run daily from Paris Saint-Lazare station to Bayeux, taking approximately 2 hours. There are also direct connections from Caen (30 min) and Cherbourg.

The station is located 12 km from the Mercure Omaha Beach venue hire and provides easy access to this seminar hotel, which is set in a natural environment. On weekdays, the NOMAD line 120 serves the ‘Port-en-Bessin/Huppain – Huppain’ stop, 750 metres from the hotel.

For added convenience, a car or taxi transfer from Bayeux station will take you to the seafront in under 15 minutes.

By plane

For your event on the coast, your individual or group participants can plan a flight to Caen-Carpiquet airport, located 40 km from The Mercure Omaha Beach, whether from Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Nice, Montpellier or Corsica.

For other national and international destinations, Paris-Orly and Roissy-CDG airports can be reached by a combination of plane + car, or plane + train to Bayeux, then bus or taxi to your Mercure Omaha Beach venue hire.

The Mercure Omaha Beach is a seminar hotel and dedicated reception venue that is committed to responsible hospitality. It has already been awarded the Green Key environmental label.

Green Key eco-certificate

The Mercure Omaha Beach was awarded the Green Key label in 2024. Since 2019, it has been taking tangible action. This includes eliminating single-use plastic, saving 118 kg of food thanks to Phénix, installing 100% LED lighting and electric terminals, offering a sauna and hammam on request and not heating the swimming pool in winter. Water consumption has been reduced and linen is not replaced for short stays. 80% of waste is recycled, the rest is recovered via composting and methanisation. The green spaces are free from pesticides. 80% of suppliers are French or even local. In the kitchen, 25% of products are local and seasonal for menus that change 2–4 times a year.

Located in the building next to the pro shop, the A l’Epicerie Mer & Golf bar opens onto the restaurant and its panoramic terrace.

With a counter clad in blue wood as a nod to the English Channel, a wall of draught beers, a striking wine cellar, luminous globes and velvet armchairs, the bar boasts a distinctive character. The prism of light and history in the lobby bar extends to the 74 rooms at the Mercure Omaha Beach hotel, which are arranged in an L-shape around the tree-lined gardens. Spread over two floors, the rooms are decorated in wood or magenta shades, and some open onto a balcony with a view of the sky. Each room features a hand-crafted glass prism that plays with reflections as the day progresses.

With up to 28 m² of space, classic, privilege or duplex configurations and Canal+ and CanalSat channels, they can accommodate groups or families of 1 to 4 people. The hotel is a soothing retreat, combining comfort, artistic inspiration and generous natural surroundings.
